February 13, 2010 was indeed a Night to Remember ! After a month of preparation and practices the day of our JS Prom came. We were ready to face the Red Carpet with all our Splendor and Excitement .  The Senior's hired Lakshmi to be their Paparazzi for the wonderful event. Of course the Juniors  also hired Reno to take all the important snapshots . 
This year's theme was Hollywood Inspired. We all had a star to greet us, when we walked up the red carpet and the grand staircase of the Clubhouse .  Of course our Paparazzi took some time to follow us and take our pictures.  Although, they were CdO reknowned photographers the photos above were taken by my schoolmate .
The program was wonderful , Benjoe seranaded us with a song that melted the Teacher's hearts. Apple inspired us with her rendition of " My Valentine "( she's quite a songbird!)while her friends danced like real ladies and gentlemen.  Nikko , Apple , Kissy , and Joey had a light and cute song number which made me realize that I am graduating very soon .Nikko and Joey sang "I'm Yours" and dedicated it to all the ladies of MdO. Anthony also sang a song for the first time and he had to calm his nerves but he did get by.  Kathleen C. and Brynner V. sang a duet which was actually an avenue for Brynner to express how much he was crushing on Cute and Lovely Geraby . However during the instrumental part , Joey had to give Geraby flowers !!! It was quite a scene , still everyone had fun.  For the Finale , the boys of  Fourth year Amethyst showed off their moves and it definitely made the night more exciting!
I like how MdO gives us students a chance to express ourselves and come out from our shell . Our school is indeed a beacon of light in making Quality education a holistic experience.   
The dances were choreographed by Sir Raul Prima and I must say he really thought about it and made each set worth watching.  The Ladies gowns twirled while the Gentlemen looked dashing in their suits and tux.  I particularly liked the Boys wearing bow ties , they were setting the trend ;-)
Of course the Last Will and Testament and Glimpse of the Future made the night a different one . Each one was acknowledged and the writers Marion and Geraby really did a wonderful job making it almost similar to the First few batches of MdO - very personalized and positive :-)
Miss Alma Mater - the very intelligent and lovely Marion Poblacion was proud to accept her sash and so were Vanessa Dy and Nette Labis both awardees for the evening.
Miss Alma Mater's Speech was heartfelt, short , and direct to the point. It made me so proud of my friend while watching her speak in the podium.
Jill Velez accepted the key of responsibility with a wonderful speech.  Kissy and John Lerio were great hosts , they spoke clearly and included us in their spiels .
It was indeed a Night to Remember!

Yes Falcons! The pretty little princess is Little Miss MdO Ma. Raphael Toring .  " Rap rap " is her nickname , she is 5 years old and is in Kinder .  " Rap rap " was asked how she got her name Raphael , she answered that all of the Toring kids were named after angels so they can be watched over ! Our Little Miss MdO is a smart cookie and her Mom and Dad are very proud of her .

You will be seeing more of Raphael as she graces the 30th Anniversary Billboard along Carmen and of course watch out for MdO shows!

His voice excites us and his claim to fame is having 3 number one  hits in one album , with his Paano na Kaya as the anthem of Pinoy Dream Academy fans!  This guy can" blow" and is really worth the accolades he's been receiving . He is none other than Bugoy Drilon .

 

Lucky , lucky ! your Teambloggista Correspondent bumped into him at the mall ,and Bugoy was very accommodating and friendly . He informed me about his being nominated in the Awit Awards and as a fan , I said I'll share the information with friends . I believe in this guy's talent and capability , I think he deserves to win . Let's rally for him and with him !

 I've been so excited to watch the movie - New Moon. Well an opportunity came  last Saturday after the Little Miss Pageant , your Teambloggista Correspondent joined the long line of excited New Moon fans.  I read the book and I know that I won't be seeing a lot of Edward in this movie, since the story will be introducing the arch enemy - the werewolves !  Also I remember , Stephanie Meyer- the author dedicating New Moon to her brother Jacob . Much as I would like to talk about the movie , I have specific instructions not to share all the juicy details .  So I thought I'll  just give it a rating. And yes I give it  four stars since I really enjoyed the movie plus the company. I think Bella's acting as well as Edwards's justifies mtv's viewer's choice award for making them their favorite.  Jacob looked hot and his smile is just so cute and his body is just perfect  ;-)
Team Edward or Team Jacob, each guy will have a moment with Bella so don't miss the to die for moments that still fill the movie theater with shrieks from excited girls including me ;-)
Interested in knowing who I'd pick?  just like Bella " It has always been Edward!"  because I'd love to say this as my last few words before I end my human life "bite me!"

This year the theme is Miss Universe inspired and so the Contestants will be representing different Countries other than the Philippines.  Little Miss MdO Kathlyn Tulaytay will grace the stage with her Filipiniana Inspired Gown don't miss her farewell walk !  Witness the colorful, exciting , and unpredictable event this Saturday , November 21  at Limketkai Rotunda and see who will shine the brightest.  See you there !!! This year the Highschool Department of Montessori de Oro activated the annual Bottle Drive Fundraising Event. Each student will be given a chance to make a difference by giving old bottles , cans and recyclable items that can be converted to cash.  This is a fun and meaningful project that really teaches students to work together for the betterment of the community . Great Job Falcons!

It's a costume party so everyone will be expected to participate in this Halloween "Fun"tastic event.  It's time to play pretend , spooks begin before 6pm , try to wear some spooky stuff for a great scare! For pretty girls its time to flutter those wings and fly away or be a princess fairy on a holiday ! You can wear all those glitters and crowns. For the guys that like creepy and crawlies  time to dress for a Hallow's eve of fun .  Light up the darkness or hide behind the mystery -its your call . Just remember you only have four years of highschool fun ! See you at the Halloween Dream Party and remember you can live your dream role only on Halloween ;-)

It has been MdO's tradition to celebrate Fashion Week and this year it is sponsored by Limketkai Mall .  Aside from the fashion competition is the "Performing As" contest wherein the participants are given a chance to act , sing, dance , and look like their idol.  For two years Nikko Omana has been the Performing As" king and this year he is not giving up his throne yet so his performance is something that we wil have to watch. Of course the best dancers and the best singers will be performing at the Fashion Fever .

This year the First year will be presenting the 80's theme

The defending champion , the Second year students will be presenting Bohemian Nation

The third year students will be presenting Pinoy Fusion

The fourth year students will be presenting First day High

Sun, 13 Sep 2009 16:58:39 +0000 Congratulations Lutz Tumara 2009 School Spirit Queen! Every year a Festival Queen is chosen in the General Assembly.  The Queen will have to represent her team and perform with her team during the School Spirit Competition.  The judges are given a separate tally sheet for the Queen in the Competition so they will have to really carefully watch the whole presentation. 

This year the Gold Team Started with their Harvest Celebration with their Queen Kathleen Concillo dancing to the drums while carrying a Sto. Nino. The Gold Team participants were eager to break the curse of coming in third . This year they did it but they have to work harder because First place is yet to be reached!

The Silver Team performed next with a Tribute to Peace makers all over the world, using the music of Michael Jackson . Michael Jackson's music was used because of the message as well as the representation of the artist as an active humanitarian in advancing the fight against poverty , violence , and hunger. Lutz Tumara wowed the whole Atrium with her performance . 

The Green Team performed a Pineapple Harvest Celebration .  The Green Team performed  in synch with their steps and the participants energy could be felt when they performed in front of the audience.  The Green Team's muse is Marion Poblacion , in her presentation she changed twice with a gown that made her look like a Princess.

Mon, 24 Aug 2009 18:25:16 +0000 GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2009 August 18th was our General Assembly and I must say its one of the best Assemblies . The Assembly was a Tuesday but  still the Atrium was full of excited Falcons and supporters !  The General Assembly started with a show from the Performing Arts Group and after the show was the most awaited School Spirit Competition. Checkout the pictures for those that missed the show . 

The show opened with a song number by Kissy , Sheila , and Kathleen together with the Performing Arts Group .

 


 

 

During the Assembly our hosts introduced the new batch of Student Council Officers, Irish, Hazel , Camille, and Malou sang Tell me Something I don't know .  The  7 Loveliest Batch 8 girls were introduced,  Congratulations Valerie, Milka , Feristy, Geraby , Sheila , Daya , Marion!
